Lehigh Northeast Cement Company’s Glens Falls plant, founded in 1893, is the oldest, continuously-operated gray cement manufacturer in North America. Lehigh produces a wide variety of Portland and masonry cement products — a key ingredient in concrete — for customers throughout the Northeast. The plant is located in the Town of Queensbury and the City of Glens Falls, N.Y. A limestone quarry, the source of cement manufacturing’s primary raw ingredient, is located in the Town of Moreau, N.Y. It is connected to the main plant via a private bridge across the Hudson River.

Lehigh recently submitted an application to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to renew its existing Title V Air Permit and incorporate more stringent federal air emission requirements into it. More information about these new requirements and the permit renewal is available at the links below. Lehigh has been reviewing this information with members of its Community Advisory Panel. The information provided to these individuals is available here. Please note that the names of committee members have been redacted to protect their privacy.
