Where and How Our Aggregates Are Used

“Aggregates” is a general term for rocks and minerals used in a variety of industries for a range of purposes. Aggregates are truly foundational. They make up 94% of asphalt pavement and 80% of concrete. They are a vital component of our homes, from the concrete in the basement to the shingles on the roof. Our Products

Hanson Aggregates Plum Run Quarry has many products certified to meet the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) specifications. Our product numbering/naming system corresponds with these ODOT specifications, though we do make a variety of custom aggregate mixes in different sizes, gradations and densities in addition to these standardized products.

If you are unfamiliar with these ODOT codes, or if you need assistance identifying an equivalent product or state, municipal or industrial specification, please contact a sales representative at our facility.

Our facility has a fine grind operation on site for any of your filler or non-skid design needs and we also sell an Agricultural Lime (Aglime) product. Please contact a sales representative for more information.

Estimating, Ordering, and Purchasing Aggregates

Our goal is to help you get your job done as quickly and cost effectively as possible while providing you with limestone aggregates that meet the highest standards of quality. To do that, there are a few pieces of information that we’ll need to collect from you at the time you contact us for an estimate or order. To ensure the most efficient service, please have the following information ready:

  • The location of your job site.
  • The product you need
  • The quantity (tonnage) of material you need

If you are a first-time customer, you can place an order with us via cash, check or credit card upon pickup. If you desire to establish a billing account with Hanson Aggregates, please contact our office. Upon approval of your credit application, you will be able to place orders for aggregates directly from your sales representative and be invoiced monthly. You will also have access to our customer portal, where you can access records of past orders, tickets, invoices, statements, and much more.

Transporting Your Aggregates

Any seasoned contractor or purchasing agent knows that the cost of the material is only one part of the equation. Transporting your aggregate order by truck is generally only cost effective within a radius of 50-100 miles or less. Beyond this range, the cost of ground transportation is generally not practical.

Hanson Aggregates Plum Run Quarry does not directly provide hauling or transportation services. If you are an independent purchaser or part of a company that does not have a truck fleet capable of hauling your order, we can help connect you to one of several reliable trucking and transportation vendors in our area. If you do have a truck or trucking fleet and are capable coordinating your own transportation, please contact our business office prior to your pickup date to ensure that your driver(s) experience a quick safety review and hassle-free pickup experience.
