About Hanson Aggregates Bloomville Quarry

Located on 485 beautiful acres in a rural corner of Seneca County, Ohio, Hanson Aggregates Bloomville Quarry is a trusted supplier of crushed limestone aggregates serving construction and industrial customers, agencies and individuals. The facility enjoys the notable status of being one of the longest-running aggregate operations in the country, having first opened for mining and aggregate production in 1883, under the name France Stone Company. In 1995, the quarry and production plant were acquired by Hanson Aggregates, an affiliated company of Lehigh Hanson, Inc.

Having been a part of the community for so long, it’s no surprise that some locals may occasionally identify the facility by a nickname or an abbreviated variation of our official facility name. Some of these include “Bloomville Plant,” and “Hanson Aggregates Midwest.” Our quarry is notable as being one of the only in the area to produce a variety of limestone known as “Ohio Blue” – a decorative stone material commonly used in many architectural installations.

Estimating, Ordering, and Purchasing Aggregates

Our goal is to help you get your job done as quickly and cost effectively as possible while providing you with limestone aggregates that meet the highest standards of quality. To do that, there are a few pieces of information that we’ll need to collect from you at the time you contact us for an estimate or order. To ensure the most efficient service, please have the following information ready:

  • The location of your job site.
  • The product you need
  • The quantity (tonnage) of material you need

If you are a first-time customer, you can place an order with us via cash, check or credit card upon pickup. If you desire to establish a billing account with Hanson Aggregates, please contact our office. Upon approval of your credit application, you will be able to place orders for aggregates directly from your sales representative and be invoiced monthly. You will also have access to our customer portal, where you can access records of past orders, tickets, invoices, statements, and much more.

Transporting Your Aggregates

Any seasoned contractor or purchasing agent knows that the cost of the material is only one part of the equation. Transporting your aggregate order by truck is generally only cost effective within a radius of 50-100 miles or less. Beyond this range, the cost of ground transportation is generally not practical, unless the product is being delivered via rail. Our sister facility, Hanson Aggregates Sandusky Quarry, has rail service and can work with you to explore or arrange to have products delivered to a much wider geographic area.

Hanson Aggregates Bloomville Quarry does not directly provide hauling or transportation services. If you are independent purchaser or part of a company that does not have a truck fleet capable of hauling your order, we can help connect you to one of several reliable trucking and transportation vendors in our area. If you do have a truck or trucking fleet and are capable coordinating your own transportation, please contact our business office prior to your pickup date to ensure that your driver(s) experience a quick safety review and a hassle-free pickup experience.
