About Hanson Aggregates Wagner Quarry

Located atop a 500-acre limestone quarry near the shores of Lake Erie, Hanson Aggregates Wagner Quarry has supplied high-quality aggregates for commercial, industrial and construction-industry customers throughout North Central Ohio since 1912. Literally thousands of miles of roadways and countless structures have been supported by aggregates mined from Wagner Quarry over its 100-year-plus history. Even today, the facility’s rich heritage can still be seen in the original wooden beams that have supported one of the property’s buildings for over a century. In 2003, the facility was acquired by Hanson Aggregates, an affiliated company of Lehigh Hanson, Inc.

The facility has been recognized for its exceptional safety standards as well as its diligence in conducting operations in a manner that is environmentally-conscious and observant of the surrounding community. Some of Hanson Aggregates Wagner Quarry’s credentials include:

  • Mining permits from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR)
  • Environmental safety permits from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
  • Compliance with safety standards from the Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)
  • Safety award from the Ohio Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Association (OAIMA)

Additionally, the facility has incorporated many noise abatement solutions, such as rubber bed liners and alternate-tone backup indicators in our trucks and heavy equipment vehicles.

Estimating, Ordering, and Purchasing Aggregates

Our goal is to help you get your job done as quickly and cost effectively as possible while providing you with limestone aggregates that meet the highest standards of quality. To do that, there are a few pieces of information that we’ll need to collect from you at the time you contact us for an estimate or order. To ensure the most efficient service, please have the following information ready:

  • The location of your job site.
  • The product you need
  • The quantity (tonnage) of material you need

If you are a first-time customer, you can place an order with us via cash, check or credit card upon pickup. If you desire to establish a billing account with Hanson Aggregates, please contact our office. Upon approval of your credit application, you will be able to place orders for aggregates directly from your sales representative and be invoiced monthly. You will also have access to our customer portal, where you can access records of past orders, tickets, invoices, statements, and much more.

Transporting Your Aggregates

Any seasoned contractor or purchasing agent knows that the cost of the material is only one part of the equation. Transporting your aggregate order by truck is generally only cost effective within a radius of 50-100 miles or less. Beyond this range, the cost of ground transportation is generally not practical, unless the product is being delivered via rail. Our sister facility, Hanson Aggregates Sandusky Quarry, has rail service and can work with you to explore or arrange to have products delivered to a much wider geographic area.

Hanson Aggregates Wagner Quarry does not directly provide hauling or transportation services. If you are independent purchaser or part of a company that does not have a truck fleet capable of hauling your order, we can help connect you to one of several reliable trucking and transportation vendors in our area. If you do have a truck or trucking fleet and are capable coordinating your own transportation, please contact our business office prior to your pickup date to ensure that your driver(s) experience a quick safety review and a hassle-free pickup experience.
