Four Cement Plants Earn EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Certification

Lehigh Hanson, Inc. is pleased to announce that four of its cement plants have earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) prestigious ENERGY STAR certification for 2018.

The company’s cement manufacturing plants in Leeds, Alabama; Union Bridge, Maryland; Tehachapi, California; and Redding, California all perform within the top 25 percent of cement plants nationwide for energy efficiency and meet strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA. This is the sixth consecutive year the Union Bridge plant has received ENERGY STAR certification, the fifth consecutive year for the Leeds plant and the second consecutive year for the Redding plant.

Earning the ENERGY STAR certification at these four cement plants is just one example of Lehigh Hanson’s industry leadership in sustainable manufacturing processes. In addition, Lehigh Hanson is an ENERGY STAR® corporate partner and also has the unique distinction of being the only aggregates producer to have five crushed stone plants achieve the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry.
