Cadman Materials is currently looking for responsible, safe, and dependable Ready Mix Drivers to join our local team. A Ready Mix Truck Driver must safely operate a large concrete truck in either an urban or rural setting. Their role will essentially be the Company representative as they slump, deliver and discharge high quality concrete to a wide variety of different contractors or customers. The ideal candidate will have: a CDL Class A or B license, certified to drive manuals, experience safely driving heavy trucks, proven communication and problem solving skills while working with customers, understand and follow Company policies and procedures, possess a solid knowledge of local and provincial transportation regulations and some mechanical aptitude for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections. The successful candidate will have a proven safety record, a history of being a team player, must have the initiative to be able to work without direct supervision, able to work all shifts, Saturdays and overtime when required.

Enforces job site safety and encourage safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
Coordinate and supervises all construction activities.

Job Requirements:
3 years' experience on construction projects in a superintendent role
3 years’ supervisory experience
In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the management of site logistics and contract operations on tight urban sites
Must be construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction
Must have experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
Strong technical and communication skills are critical

Under the direction of Construction Manager, the primary responsibility of a Construction Laborer is to assist the placement, installation, and preparation of concrete forms in construction projects in both urban and rural settings. A construction laborer essentially prepares job sites for concrete delivery and installation.

What you will do:

  • Assist in building structures for curb, gutter and sidewalk concrete installation.
  • Preparation of construction site, digging trenches and setting of support braces.
  • Operate pavement breakers; jackhammers; earth tampers; concrete, mortar, and plaster mixers
  • Flexibility of working long hours and the ability to work in all types of weather conditions
  • Maintain a clean job site and to pick up all tools and equipment and secure the jobsite each day

Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation (able to go to job sites in Portland OR and Vancouver WA area)

Ready Mix Truck/Diesel Mechanic, Vancouver, WA

We are seeking an experienced Swing Shift Ready Mix Truck/Diesel Mechanic for our Vancouver, WA Truck Shop.  This position reports to the Mobile Equipment Manager. Duties include performing scheduled routine maintenance and repairs of mixer trucks, dump trucks and other equipment as required.  Review and make repairs from the daily inspection reports and driver feedback.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lubricates trucks and equipment.
  • Repairs and performs repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance  
  • Reviews DVIR’s and follows up on or creates work orders as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5 years’ truck repair experience (Mixer experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in servicing engines, transmissions, rear ends, running gear, electrical and hydraulic systems on mixer trucks and dump trucks.
  • Knowledge of Daimler, Cummins and Cat engines
  • Welding/Fitting/Fabrication Skills a plus
  • A valid driver’s license with Class B CDL endorsement (Class A preferred) or the ability to secure a CDL within 120 days of being hired
  • ASE, Brake Certifications preferred
  • Understanding of DOT inspection requirements
  • Record keeping skills
  • Willingness and ability to work nontraditional hours and on Saturdays
  • Must have own tools
