Campbell History in Houston

HISTORY SERVING TEXAS

In 1964, Campbell Ready Mix was established by Gene Campbell. Originally settled in the small town of Cleveland, Texas, Campbell Ready Mix started with one plant and quickly grew to one of the largest and most successful family-held businesses in Southeast Texas.

By 1996, after the purchase of additional smaller concrete companies and plants, Campbell was running with 11 plants and 166 trucks. In early 1998, after forming a partnership with Pioneer International, Mr. Campbell sold his remaining portion to Texas Lehigh Cement Company. Texas Lehigh Cement Company, owners of Gulf Coast Concrete, merged the two companies together forming Campbell Concrete & Materials, L.P., becoming a leading source of concrete, aggregates and stabilized materials for the Greater Houston Area.
